The Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) System is a nationally recognized skills training and certification system for the Landscape Industry. The WSQ is developed based on adult learning principles and adopts a training and certification approach of job competencies. This will enable training and certification relevant for the job.

 
 

Basic Nature Interpretation (BNI)

Basic Nature Interpretation (BNI) for Nature Guides is a competency-based programme developed to introduce nature interpretation to Nature Guides and Programme Developers for nature tours and walks. Nature Interpretation is the art and science of developing and presenting opportunities and programs to experience nature that lead to greater understanding, appreciation and enjoyment. This course aims to impart the basic concepts of Nature Interpretation, and the skills necessary for nature guides to plan, prepare and conduct a "thematic" nature experience.

CUGE offers 5 WSQ units under the BNI program. 

TH-SM-101C-0 Interact with Guest

Synopsis

CUGE efforts to enhance and maintain Singapore's reputation as a 'Garden City' needs to be complemented with excellence customer service culture within its workforce. The foundation to excellence customer service is through good and professional interaction with customers.

Interacting with the customer is important in all service sectors. An enjoyable experience where customers are being delighted would translate to repeated customers. As Singapore continues to create many iconic projects such as the Integrated Resorts, Gardens by the Bay and the Park Connector Network etc, it cannot be emphasized further the need to ensure our customer services are kept world-class and in tip-top shape.

This module on interact with guest will equip service staff with the knowledge and application skills to manage their interactions with guests and ensuring the guests' experience in Singapore is positive and worth returning to visit again.

Good interaction is an essential part of everyone's life whether face to face or through telephone. In most industries, especially in the service line, good interaction is a vital foundation. It is an excellent way in which one can share and learn from others. In this module, learners will be able to master the skill and knowledge of expressing oneself and be understood with no ambiguity. With less ambiguity, learners will be able to wow themselves with confidence and wow their customers. The aim of this course is to train and certify participants to Interact with Guest with professionalism and respect

We will share with them how we can strike a balance between nature and physical development and educate them on the values and care for this greenery. Through these Learning Journeys, they will also learn the importance of conserving our natural heritage and at the same time enhance their interests and knowledge on wanting to be a nature guide

Singapore's green policies, beginning with the "Garden City" planning the 1960s, and continuing as a "City in a Garden" vision; have transformed the city-state into a distinctive and vibrant global city. The clean and green environment mitigates the harsh concrete urban environment and improves our quality of life. The course aims to train and qualify a nature guide to introduce the natural history and key attraction in our garden city

CUGE Skills Pack in Advanced Nature Interpretation (ANI)

CUGE skills pack in Advanced Nature Interpretation (ANI) is a competency-based programme which imparts specific skills required for leading and coordinating tours such as Working as Guide, Coordinate and Operate Tour, and Lead Tour Groups. Participants could range from Parks Officers, Nature Guides, Educators conducting excursions and field trip and experienced nature interpreters.

CUGE offers 7 WSQ units under the ANI program.
