ABOUT CUGE
The Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology (CUGE) is managed by the National Parks Board (NParks). CUGE is the Lead National Training Institution for the Landscape Industry.

The Singapore Workplace Skills Qualifications (WSQ) is a national continuing education and training system developed by the Industry and WDA.  The WSQ system is designed to facilitate adult learning, make skills upgrading more accessible to the local workforce and provide career progression pathways.

COURSE OVERVIEW
The WSQ Certificate in Landscape Operations Composite Assessment is specially designed for experienced landscape workers who will undergo assessment of 7 Core WSQ units and 3 Elective WSQ Units. It is a maximum of 5 hours assessment per candidate.

This is an Assessment-Only programme which allows experienced landscape workers to undergo a 2 part assessment in 5 hours. It is comprised of a 3 hour Practical Performance Assessment followed by a 1.5 hour Oral Assessment conducted at one of the public parks under National Parks Board.

The following WSQ units will be assessed:

Identify Landscape Materials, Horticultural Products, Irrigation Components And Tools Used In The Industry

Safe Use And Handling Of Non-Hazardous Chemicals Under Supervision

Comply with Workplace Safety and Health Policies and Procedures

Plant, Mulch And Maintain Planted Areas

9

Prune Plants (Not Exceeding 3 Metres)

10

Maintain Amenity Turf And Open Grassed Spaces

Candidates will be able to obtain the WSQ Certificate in Landscape Operations upon being assessed “Competent”

PRE-REQUISITES

  • Minimum 1 year experience Landscape workers (Local and Foreign)
  • Able to communicate and understand basic conversational English
WSQ TRAINERS AND ASSESSORS

CUGE Assessors are trained and certified in the Advanced Training and Assessment Certificate. CUGE manages a pool of more than 60 WSQ Assessors who are practitioners from the Industry and NParks. These Assessors are experienced in the areas of landscape and are able to impart both institutional and competencies knowledge to trainees.

ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY
Composite assessment of 7 Core WSQ units and 3 Elective WSQ units in a work-based scenario in realistic workplace like public parks.

CANCELLATION
National Parks Board reserves the right to change the programme venue, cancel or reschedule it if necessary or warranted by circumstances beyond our control.
There will be no refund of fees for withdrawal. Once the confirmation notice is issued to the participant, cancellation will not be entertained. The fees will be charged in full. However, if the registered participant is unable to attend, he or she will be allowed to nominate a representative.  Please inform us of the changes by phone or email 3 working days before the commencement of the programme.
