INTRODUCTION
This course is a Sector Core Module under the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Landscape Supervision in Parks Reserves and Gardens (PRG) specialization. 

PROGRAMME AIM

  • To provide knowledge and skills to plan, install and maintain specialised gardens.  Students will learn about the purpose of different types of gardens, plant types and their maintenance requirements.
  • The course is based upon WSQ Landscape Competency LS-HS-303S-1 – Install and maintain specialised gardens.
  • Participants who successfully complete and pass the assessment will be conferred a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by WDA.

PROGRAMME CONTENT

  • Describe the concept and purpose of a botanical or plant type collection, including their purpose and normal location
  • Plan the installation of a botanical or plant type collection design
  • Interpret and clarify plans and specifications
  • Identify strategies to ensure health and required presentation standards of the plant collection
  • Inspect installation to ensure plan specifications, enterprise standards and client expectations are met
  • Maintain general conditions of site
  • Maintain growing conditions required for the plant type
  • Maintain soil conditions according to plant collection and plant type cultural needs
  • Maintain growing conditions required for the plant type

Course fee for Singaporeans/PRs = $100.00 (inclusive of GST) – (terms and conditions apply).

Absentee Payroll
Absentee Payroll Funding is also available for this program. To be eligible for Absentee Payroll funding, companies are required to enroll their trainees directly through the skillsconnect portal.
Fees include provision of training and assessment materials, equipment and tea-breaks.

Please note that only trainees who have achieved at least 75% of attendance in training will be scheduled for assessment.
