CUGE-ECO-3116 Themed Gardens: Butterfly Gardens A Practical Design

INTRODUCTION
Singapore is home to more than 300 butterfly species, many of which are forest dependent. Some of the butterflies can breed and live in urban parks and gardens as well, if the environment is conducive. In order to create and achieve a blossoming butterfly garden, there are several considerations during the design process. Different species have varied micro-habitats, host- and nectar- plant requirements and home ranges.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Butterfly gardens are becoming increasingly popular in our City in a Garden. The course aims to increase participants' understanding of the diverse butterfly species, its ecology, and habitat requirements and how these factors influence the size, design and cost elements of a butterfly garden.
