CUGE-ARB-3029 Assessment of Tree Forks

COURSE OVERVIEW

The workshop will outline how bark-included junctions are formed due to the actios of 'natural braces' in trees. During the course, the trainer will give insight and guidance on how to professionally assess junctions in trees for their safety. In addition, the trainer will provide learners with valuable new knowledge on the very recent research in this area of tree assessment, as well as introducing a framework for predicting the failure of suspect bark-included junctions.

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Dr. Duncan Slater is a senior lecturer in arboriculture at Myerscough College, England, and has recently completed his doctoral degree in the anatomy and biomechanical performance of branch junctions in trees.
