CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS: 8th Regional Arboriculture Seminar

The Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology (CUGE will be holding its 8th Regional Arboriculture Seminar on 6 June 2018. The Seminar is for practising and municipal arborists, and other landscape professionals who are keen in picking up cross-specialty knowledge. The Seminar aims to share on the latest in research, technology, happenings and innovations in arboriculture and urban forestry.

CUGE invites potential local and international speakers to submit presentation proposals. The theme for the Seminar is “Tree Feet Under”. Topics of interests include but are not limited to:
• Soil and nutrition for trees
• Soil-borne diseases
• Root-soil interaction
• Tree anchorage systems
• Biomechanics of tree stability in soil

Topics should relate to arboriculture and/or urban forestry.

Proposal should include:
• Length of presentation (30, 40 or 45 minutes)
• Abstract with maximum of 300 words
• Indicate if this is case study sharing, research presentation, observations etc

Proposals will be evaluated based upon quality, appropriateness and timeliness of topic, well-defined focus, and practical application of material and the subject’s interest to a diverse audience.

Proposals must be submitted by 6 February 2018. Presenters accepted for the program will be notified by 12 April 2017.
