CUGE is proud to present the 13th Intake of the Certified Arborist Programme, in collaboration with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) based in the United States. This a premier professional certification and accreditation programme for practising arborists. The Certified Arborist Programme is an intensive training and certification programme that prepares practicing arborists for professional certification.
Application is based on first come first serve basis and registration will close immediately on
6 August 2010 at 5.30pm sharp or when the class is full, whichever is earlier.

National Parks Board reserves the right to change the venue, cancel or reschedule it if necessary or warranted by circumstances beyond our control.
Course Fees:
Full Course Fees : S$3 500.00 (including 7% GST) for foreigners.
Nett fees : S$1100.00 (including 7% GST) for Singaporeans and PRs who are
employed by Singapore companies through SPUR funding capped
at S$30/hr.
Fees are inclusive of participant materials, study guides, refreshments and the certification examination fees. The first exam re-take is free and subsequent re-takes are payable upon advise and terms and conditions set by ISA.
Competencies and training schedule
The Certified Arborist Programme consists of 70 hours of training and certification. This programme will provide refresher training on the essential theories and practices of tree care and management. The Certified Arborist Programme comprises 10 domains.
Trainees who have successfully achieved certification will be registered as a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture.
The Professional Certification of an Arborist is valid for a period of 3 Years. CUGE will provide professional development and upgrading opportunities for Certified Arborists through professional workshops/seminars to achieve Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for re-certification.

Re-certification
A Certified Arborist shall accumulate 30 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the end of the 3-year period to prepare for professional re-certification. CUGE will manage and prepare Certified Arborists to achieve the requisite CEUs
Methodology
Classroom lectures with project exercises and practices and assessment
Who should attend
Tree Care Supervisors and Managers with relevant working experience
Admission Requirements
A relevant degree with at least 1 year relevant working experience OR
A relevant diploma with at least 2 years relevant working experience OR
At least 3 years relevant working experience
Applicants may be requested to provide a referee report to attest the applicants working experience. Referees are expected to be Industry Practitioners with at least 10 years of relevant working experience and must show proof that they have worked with the applicants.
ISA reserves the sole rights to reject any applications according to the set criteria.
Facilitators and Assessors
Industry Tree Care Practitioners who are Certified Arborists, Practising Certified Arborists from the National Parks Board, Singapore
REGISTRATION DETAILS
Please e-register at www.cuge.com.sg and submit the required pages of the ISA application form.
NParks staff are required to seek Branch Head approval and register in ACE and fill in CUGE e-registration as well.
ISA is the sole authority in deciding your participation of the examination and hence the certification programme. As such, kindly read and fill up the ISA Application Handbook attached below and forward these :
a. Pages 13 - 15 (Application Details)
b. Pages 17 - 18 (Code of Ethics)
c. Page 19 (Applicant Certification and Agreement/ Release Authorization)
in soft copy to : Mohd_Adam@nparks.gov.sg and hard copy as well. Please fill up the required details especially your working experiences, designation, education and field of study etc......
All completed forms will then be sent to ISA for admissions processing and you will be informed of your admission status.

CANCELLATION
National Parks Board reserves the right to change the venue, cancel or reschedule it if necessary or warranted by circumstances beyond our control. Once the confirmation notice is issued, participants will be charged the fees. No cancellation is allowed. Replacement by another participant who qualifies is allowed but the request must reach us at least 3 working days before actual course dates.
