Singapore Workforce Development Agency (www.wda.gov.sg)

We work closely with WDA to design, develop and implement the Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) System for the Landscape Industry. WSQ provides a comprehensive skills training and certification system for all levels of the landscape industry workforce.

National Trades Union Congress (www.ntuc.org.sg)

ntuc-logo.gifWe work closely with NTUC on Job Re-Creation Projects to enhance the effectiveness and productivity of the Industry. We also work with NTUC on job placement exercises to enhance local content of the workforce and to create new jobs for the Industry workforce through skills upgrading and skills training in new areas.

SPRING Singapore (www.spring.gov.sg)

spring_logo.gifWe work closely with SPRING to develop and promulgate industry standards as national standards for the Industry and the service buyers. These national standards serve as baseline and reference for the Industry.

Singapore Landscape Industry Council

The Singapore Landscape Industry Council (SLIC) is the core Industry leadership to strategise and deliberate on the growth and development of the Landscape Industry. SLIC is chaired by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of National Parks Board, Singapore and comprises key representative entities of the Industry Associations and learning institutions.

Landscape Industry Association (Singapore) (www.lias.org.sg)

logo.gifThe Landscape Industry Association of Singapore (LIAS) is the lead Industry Association of landscape contractors and companies. We work closely with LIAS to develop and implement industry-based programmes. Chairman LIAS is a Council Member of SLIC.

Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (www.sila.org.sg)

sila.gifThe Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) is the lead Industry Association of landscape architects. We work closely with SILA on issues relating to the landscape architecture sector. President SILA is a Council Member of SLIC.

Institute of Parks and Recreation (Singapore) (www.ipr.org.sg)

iprs.gifThe Institute of Parks and Recreation is an association of experts on parks development, management and maintenance. President IPR is a Council Member of SLIC.

Floriculture Association Singapore

The Floriculture Association Singapore seeks to advance the expertise of floriculture in Singapore. President FAS is a Council Member of SLIC.

Northlight School (http://www.northlightschool.edu.sg)

northlight.jpgWe work with Northlight School to introduce taster programme on WSQ module on landscape to inculcate interest in students to consider landscape as a career. We are working with 82 students to complete training and certificate of one WSQ module in end 2007.

Ngee Ann Polytechnic (www.np.edu.sg)

np.gifWe work closely with the School of Chemical and Life Sciences of Ngee Ann Polytechnic to review and enhance the curriculum for the Diploma in Horticulture and Landscape Management to ensure that the graduates are able to create value for the Landscape Industry and the employers when the join the Industry. We have also started a Field Work Programme for the students at Clementi Woods Park to enhance the hands-on practical skills of the students. The students will also undergo the WSQ Certificate in Landscape Operations to enhance their skills value. The Director of the School of Chemical and Life Sciences is a Council Member of SLIC.

Singapore Polytechnic (www.sp.edu.sg)

sp.jpgWe work closely with the School of Built Environment of Singapore Polytechnic to review and enhance the curriculum of the Diploma in Landscape Architecture, by facilitating engagement sessions with SILA and the Industry. The Director of the School of Built Environment is a Council Member of SLIC.

Temasek Polytechnic (www.tp.edu.sg)

tp_logo.gifWe work closely with the Temasek Design School on the Diploma in Environmental Design. We facilitate engagement sessions with the Industry to ensure that the students acquire requisite skills and competencies to add value to the Industry.

National University of Singapore (www.nus.edu.sg)

nuslogo.gifWe work closely with the School of Architecture in NUS to put in place a Masters Programme in Landscape Architecture, to serve as continuing professional training and development for the landscape architecture profession.

Australian Centre of Lifestyle Horticulture (www.lifestylehort.org)

We work with ACLH on broad industry programmes and collaborations to identify synergies and common purpose to grow and develop the Landscape Industry in Singapore and the Horticulture Industry in Australia. This will include learning missions, exchange of expertise, regional seminars, etc.

New Zealand Sports Turf Institute (www.nzsti.org.nz)
