WSQ Higher Certificate in Landscape Operations (Arboriculture)

The WSQ Higher Certificate in Landscape Operations (Arboriculture) is specially designed for Landscape Technicians in the field of arboriculture and for new entrants who aspire to build a career in the specialist field of arboriculture.

CUGE offers 6 Core WSQ units, 7 Sector Core WSQ Units and 3 Elective WSQ units for trainees.   To achieve a Full WSQ Qualification of Certificate in Landscape Operations, the trainee will have to be certified competent in 6 Core WSQ units, 7 Sector Core WSQ units and Any 2 Elective WSQ units.  Trainees will achieve the Statement of Attainment when certified competent in each WSQ unit.

LS-HS-201C-1  Identify plants and their cultural needs
LS-HS-202C-1  Identify the characteristics of soil and media
LS-HS-203C-1  Treat plant health disorders
LS-HS-204C-1  Identify and control common pests and diseases
LS-HS-205C-1  Apply sustainable environmental management practices in the workplace

7 WSQ Sector Core Units

LS-HM-202S-1  Fell trees not exceeding 15 metres in height and girth 1500mm
LS-HM-203S-1  Perform above ground pruning
LS-HM-204S-1  Perform tree access and aerial rescue
LS-MT-102E-1  Chainsaw safety and maintenance
LS-MT-103E-1  Operate chainsaw safety for ground work
LS-MT-201S-1  Operate chainsaw and mechanical pruning equipment at height
TH-RM-104E-0  Demonstrate first-aid/CPR skills

3 WSQ Elective Units

LS-HM-208E-1  Respond to an emergency
LS-HM-210E-1  Plant trees and palms exceeding 3 metres in height
LS-HM-211E-1  Lift, transport and transplant large trees not exceeding 15 metres in height
