WDA Chief Executive Visit CUGE Training

The Chief Executive (CE) of Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Mr Ong Ye Kung, paid a visit to our CUGE training site at Sun Plaza Park last Friday morning, as part of the familiarisation tours to leading national training institutions of Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) programmes. Mr Ong was briefed on the WSQ training curriculum and assessment requirements and was also given a first-hand experience at using an electric hedge trimmer.

Amongst the WSQ trainees, Mr Ong met a group of 6 students from Delta Senior School, the pilot batch of students that is undergoing WSQ training as part of their skills certification. Delta Senior School is run by the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN) and provides vocational training for special needs students to help facilitate their job placement in the relevant industries. The school is planning to incorporate landscaping as a vocation choice for students.
