Landscape Safety Orientation Course

Introduction
With the implementation of the Workplace Health and Safety Act in the Landscape Industry with effect from March 2008, CUGE aims to provide comprehensive safety-related programmes to build the capabilities of the Industry ready to implement and conform with the regulations of the Act.

Who Should Attend
New and existing foreign workers working in the Landscape Industry

Competencies Trained and Assessed
General duties of persons at workplace for hazards and safe work practices relating to:
Grass cutting
Use of lawn mowers
Use of chemicals
Use of chainsaws
Streetscape works (safety harness and tree pruners)

Methodology
Classroom lectures with role plays and project exercises and assessment.

Training Duration
4 hours

Trainers and Assessors
CUGE manages and implements this WSQ unit in collaboration with NTUC LearningHub. NTUC LearningHub is the accredited safety-training organisation by the Ministry of Manpower. CUGE works closely with NTUC LearningHub to customise this unit to specific landscape scenarios and work situations. The Trainers and Assessors are sourced from NTUC LearningHub, who are experienced in Workplace Safety and Health issues across industries.
