CUGE launches Core Module under WSQ Advanced Certificate in Landscape Supervision |
|
A group of 16 participants joined the inaugural WSQ ESS Workplace Safety & Health (Supervisory) Module on 24-26 Aug 2009 to learn about educating and communicating safety awareness to their staff so as to minimize accidents and injuries at their workplaces. The module teaches trainees to identify responsibilities under the new Workplace Safety & Health Act that was introduced in March 2006. At the end of this module, trainees will be able to implement and monitor their organisations’ risk management procedures and WSH practices.
This Core WSQ ESS Workplace Safety & Health (Supervisory) module is a requirement for all the different landscape career tracks at the WSQ Advanced Cert Level. CUGE will be running this WSQ module regularly by promoting it intensively to the Industry to raise the awareness of Workplace Safety and Health and encouraging companies to adopt best WSH practices in their workplaces. This initiative also complements and supports the overall efforts of the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) in promoting safety and health in the workplace.
