CUGE assists Lao Cai Provincial Government to identify training, landscapeservices and Singapore Landscape companies to support their Urban GreeneryDevelopment

CUGE conducted an Executive Programme for the Lao Cai Provincial Government of Vietnam in March 2009.   The programme was conducted by various NParks directors and branch heads.   The Lao Cai Provincial Government was impressed with Singapore's urban greenery efforts and our “walk the talk” style of management and expressed interest in working with CUGE and invited Mr Teva Raj and Mr Chuah Hock Seong to visit Lao Cai Province in May 2009 to explore this.

An memorandum of understanding was then agreed between CUGE and the Lao Cai Provincial Government through which CUGE would help the Lao Cai Provincial Government with their urban greenery development through the following:

a.        identify specific projects and/or programmes (including training programmes) relating to parks and greenery planning, landscaping, development and management, and organizational best practices; and

b.        identify suitable Singapore companies or firms which can provide relevant services to LCDOC for the specific projects and programmes identified.

CEO, Mr Teva and Mr Chuah visited Lao Cai again from 7 to 9 Sep 09, during which the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by CEO and Mr Ha Hai Thanh, Deputy Director, Lao Cai Department of Construction (LCDOC) on 7 Sept 2009.
