CUGE Launches Guideline On Design Loads And Design For Safety For Rooftop Greenery |
|
The Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology launched two new CUGE STANDARDS in the Skyrise Greenery series at the Workshop on CUGE Standards on Planting Media: Specifications for Soil Mixture and Compost & Mulches on 7th April. They are CS E01:2010, Guidelines On Design Loads for Rooftop Greenery and CS E02:2010, Design For Safety for Rooftop Greenery. Recognizing the increasing popularity of rooftop greenery in Singapore, these two standards have been published to address two important areas: design load considerations and safety. CS E01:2010 includes suggested landscape materials and their appropriate placement while CS E02:2010 highlights safety considerations during the design, installation and maintenance phases. The CUGE Standards series is part of CUGE’s effort to improve the overall horticulture standard of the landscape industry. The CUGE Standards Series is a set of written guidelines for adoption in the landscape and horticulture industry. They are developed through a formal process that involves consultation with relevant bodies and parties. The standards take the form of either specifications, methods, codes of practices or guidelines. They are available for sale at the SBG Library and Garden Shops.
