CUGE Career Centre - Learning Journey for Landscape Stakeholders |
|
CUGE Career Centre conducted a learning journey on 19 March 2010 at Botany Centre for owners, decision makers and senior management of NParks landscape maintenance term contractors and other key stakeholders entitled ‘Gaining Productivity and a Competitive Edge for Landscape Businesses’.
The 3 invited speakers discussed the importance of establishing business competency and capability in developing and managing its human capital. The key messages were that the business bottom-line is highly dependent upon respecting and developing the skills capacity and competency of employees and not simply treating them as a commodity. Case studies of large and small companies were presented to illustrate this pertinent management mantra.
In the afternoon, one of the invited speakers, Mr Ravi Fernando from Sri Lanka conducted a seminar on ‘Strategic Corporate Sustainability - Triple Bottom-line Sustainable Business Model’ for selected NParks staff to explore and realize the advantages of building environmental, social and economic sustainable practices throughout NParks operations and supply chain.
